James River Air Conditioning was established in the Richmond community and was built on an entrepreneurial spirit that provides world- class service with all the warmth, spirit and conviction of a locally owned and operated business. This philosophy has kept us growing since 1967. Our Residential Department specializes in home comfort systems. We service and install air conditioners, heat pumps, mini-splits, furnaces, boilers, humidifiers, dehumidifiers, and air cleaners. We service all makes and models of heat pumps, air conditioners, furnaces, boilers, and indoor air quality equipment.Our Commercial Department specializes in commercial comfort systems and building automation systems. Our team of technicians service and install air conditioners, heat pumps, boilers, chillers, VAV systems, cooling towers, duct systems, ventilation systems, economizers, humidifiers, dehumidifiers, and air cleaners.Both our residential and commercial service departments offer a variety of preventive maintenance plans, from basic maintenance to full coverage including repair parts and labor. We also offer electrical and plumbing services, including wiring, upgrades, water heaters, backflow preventers, and medical gas piping.Our Energy Solutions Group is exploring all practical energy strategies that will make more and more sense for our clients as they seek clean, renewable, safe power that reduces our dependence on foreign oil. We provide home energy audit services and offer practical green solutions including solar, geothermal, and insulation services.

We have been very pleased with James River Heating and Air Conditioning. From the bid process to the installation and to the final inspection, it has been a very good experience. Gus came out for the inspection of our heatpump system on April 13, 2015 and checked out everything to be sure that the pumps were operating properly. He also answered some questions we had about the fliters for the system and his input was very informative. He is an excellent represenative for James River Heating and Air Conditioning. The company should be very glad that they have him as an employee, as he represents the company very well.
Joe Palaszewski has been our technician since we have started our contract with JRAC. We have been extremely pleased with the service that he has provided. He has educated our staff on the units and has been detailed in explaining our current problems and potential issues in the future. Our units have had several problems due to previous companies however Joe has been persistent in making sure that our repairs are done right and in a timely fashion and that we have the best operating units. His customer service is EXCELLENT!
iNSTALLATION REQUIRED CHANGES IN EQUIPMENT. HANDLED WELL & PROFESSIONALLY. ADAM M. IS OUTSTANDING!! WE AWAIT PAPERWORK TO DETERMINE IF ALL EXPECTATIONS FULFILLED, BUT EXPECT THEY WILL BE.
Joseph did such a thorough job with explanations that are easy to understand. I could tell he genuinely wanted to make sure the job was done correctly and to our approval. Thank you James River for sending such a competent, professional technician to our place of business!
Judy was very professional. She spent a lot of time inspecting my furnace and heat pump. The heat pump was not functional due to blown fuses. We had no idea it was not working. Judy also discovered the capacitor(?) on the furnace was not working correctly and replaced that. Also, she informed us that we might be eligible for a rebate on the heat pump. Judy gave us the paperwork to submit. James River Air has always done a great job maintaining our equipment.

James River Air Conditioning is the best in the business. Gus D. is wonderful - he is prompt, courteous, and skilled at assessing and maintaining heating and air systems. My husband and I request Gus for semi-annual maintenance visits. He also helped us in our last home for several years and now in this house over course of 9 years. I have referred family and friends to this company. JRAC keeps employees long term and consequently, they have a very experienced workforce. From maintenance to sales to back office, this is a very good company.
We've had a maintenance contract for years with James River Air. Never had a single problem. Always on time. Always courteous. Over the past 10+ years, technicians have always done a through check of my system and have only had to do repairs a couple of times always looking to provide lowest cost to customer.
Mark Corey did a fine job today with the annual maintenance of my air conditioning units. He is knowledgeable and courteous and shows good attention to the small details. He offered some very good advice, as well. He was the first tech to actually inquire about the filters being changed. One of them was way overdue and needed changing. Apparently the thermostat downstairs was not indicating to me that a change was due. The identical upstairs thermostat always has done this. Please remind the technicians to check the filters.
I live in a condo and a requiremsnt is a yearly inspection of electrical, heatling and plumbing systems. The two rtechnicians who inspected my systems ,Brian and Steve H expalined everthing to me, were personable. explained the reason for repairs now and completd the toal inspection plus questions, scheudle the new water heater installion,an chinemy keepers in under an hour and 1/2. Efficient, pleasant ,knowledgeable aswered many questions before I asked. Overall superior service.!

Mr. Corey made it to my residence with 90 minutes of my call as an inch snow fall was concluding. I did not expect to see anyone until the following day based on weather and road conditions. Mr. Corey was very positive, professional, informative, and courteous. He diagnosed the reason for the failure of my downstairs gas furnace failure (an electrical short caused by a failed condensation pump) which triggered a fuse in my generator panel. I did not check that panel when i was troubleshooting the problem thinking it was no a source since the generator was not running. I rank Mr. Corey right up there with Arlo.
