Dr. Schuler founded Virginia Spine Institute in 1992 to advance the development of contemporary neurological and orthopaedic spinal surgery. He has expanded his practice to include regenerative therapy, stem cell therapy, robotic spine surgery, ultrasonic spine surgery, and enhanced motion-preserving surgical techniques that benefit patients across the globe. In addition to performing the first hybrid multi-level cervical artificial disc replacement with spinal fusion in the country, he has first-hand experience of this procedure from the patient perspective. After suffering from severe neck pain, disc herniations, and nerve compression, Dr. Schuler underwent a hybrid procedure to treat four levels of his spine and is fully recovered and back to his life, pain free. Dr Nguyen, from my first appointment has shown compassion, professionalism, competence, willingness to go beyond whats expected to help with pain management as well and point me in the right direction as needed for my continued health. In my opinion he is the, if not one of the best pain management Doctors definitely in Northern VA.

From the initial consultation through the post op appointments, Dr. Schuler has provided excellent care. He is remarkably responsive and considerate.
Diagnosed the problem correctly. Surgery was not overly invasive and was very effective. Dr Schuler was friendly and easy to talk with.
Very positive experience. I have been suffering from back issues for 4 years and had to do a fusion surgery eventually. My recovery has been fantastic and I am able to do activities I have not been able to do for years.
The practice is run extremely well and the integrated care from physical therapy, to pain management, to surgery is very helpful for the patient.
