General Info
A native Northern Nevadan, Dr. Meier was born and raised in Reno. He graduated from medical school with highest distinction from the University of Southern California at the top of his class. Dr. Meier completed his residency training at the Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary (MEEI) in the Harvard Combined Program in Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery. He then completed a Rhinology fellowship (endoscopic sinus and anterior skull base surgery) at Harvard Medical School and MEEI. In 2015 MEEI was rated as the #1 Otolaryngology (ENT) department in the country by U.S. News and World Report (USNEWS). Dr. Meier is board certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology. After completing his training, Dr. Meier returned to Reno to take over Dr. John Dooleys practice upon his retirement. Dr. Meier sees both adults and children with a wide range of ENT disorders. However, Dr. Meiers clinical focus is on the diagnosis and management (medical and surgical) of diseases of the nose and paranasal sinuses, especially chronic sinusitis. Dr. Meier is the only fellowship-trained Rhinologist in Northern Nevada and Northeastern California. This advanced training allows Dr. Meier to perform complex revision sinus surgeries, as well as to endoscopically manage disorders of the tear ducts, orbit and anterior skull base. His additional training enables him to perform minimally invasive endoscopic sinus surgery with a focus on mucosal preservation and quicker healing. Because of these techniques, Dr. Meier does not use nasal packing in the vast majority of his patients after nasal surgery. In addition, he has unique expertise in managing smell and taste disorders. Dr. Meier has lectured nationally and throughout the region on rhinologic topics. He has published over a dozen scientific papers, the majority on endoscopic sinus and skull base surgery.

Dr Meier is super business like to the point. I was especially impressed with his overall confidence. I feel like he could spend a bit more time with me at times.
very positive, looking forward to a long professional relationship
I like the personal visit time as well as his knowledge of my symptoms and how to treat them.
Dr Meier is the best surgeon I have ever dealt with - He is kind and patient and I trust him to take care of me.
he was not able to diagnose my illness but worked to find someone who could and helped me along the way!
Very pleasant and helpful.
post-op was quick and great service
Dr. Meier is always very informative and professional. If he can not figure out the diagnosis then he is willing to send to other doctors which I consider a great quaility in him. He is very sweet and personable. Highly recommend.
Quick diagnosis and game plan. Hoping for a quick recovery. Great bedside manner and very thorough.
Dr Meier was awesome with my nasal surgery, recovery was really painless and my breathing is now perfect. Thank you for the great care and service.
Everything went well. Dr. Meier was very good and his prescribed cure went well. I would recommend him to anyone needing help in his field.
very helpful
great and made sense
I had a history of sinus infections, and at the time I came to see Dr. Meier my infection had become chronic. I had an infection that had persisted, to some degree, for about four months. I was a bit of a sinus surgery skeptic, based on the experiences of friends who had experienced only minor improvements as a result of their surgeries or who had to have multiple surgeries to get meaningful results. However, I was somewhat desperate, as my health was really suffering from my sinus condition. I developed a trust in Dr. Meier, opted for surgery, and have not regretted it. Since surgery there have been multiple occasions when I was certain I was getting a sinus infection, based on past experience, but none of the episodes have resulted in infections. My sinuses are functioning better than ever, my overall health has improved, and I even have fewer problems related to my environmental allergies.
it been excellent from the beginning,i would recommend this staff to everyone.
Dr Meier was very informative in explaining the condition/problem,
Dr. Meier has been attentive and direct. no wasted appointments. I feel the treatment has been effective. Communication has been great. The polyp surgery has greatly improved my breathing.
Great overall experience. Easy visits, great for kids.
I was referred to Dr. Meier for breathing and dizziness issues. After an evaluation and choices I was given, I choose to have sinus surgery. Best decision I ever made. I didn't know how bad my breathing was until after the surgery! I was surprised that the pain was not too bad after the surgery and the recovery was quick. The worst part was my first follow up after the surgery....take something prior to the appointment. :)
