The Arc of Clark County is a private, nonprofit corporation that focuses on the improvement of the life of individuals with developmental disabilities in southwestern Washington. Founded in 1936, the corporation offers a parent coalition program that includes community meetings and forums for educating, sharing and discussing the issues of mutual concern. It also provides a vocational development services program that enables individuals to learn good work ethics, build employment capabilities, and develop socialization and communication skills. The Arc of Clark County offers training, counseling and advocacy services. It provides a representative payee and guardianship program that assists individuals with managing their finances. The Arc of Clark County operates a family center that features a community room for organizing conferences, meetings and events.
