- Fluoride TreatmentYour pediatric dentist may also recommend protective sealants or home fluoride treatments for your child. Sealants can be applied to your child’s molars to prevent decay on hard to clean surfaces.
- Dental SealantsSealants keep out plaque and food and decrease the risk of decay by forming a thin covering over the pits and fissures in your teeth. Since, the covering is only over the biting surface of the tooth, areas on the side and between teeth cannot be coated with the sealant. Good oral hygiene and nutrition are still very important in preventing decay next to these sealants or in areas unable to be covered.

- CrownsProsthodontists strive for perfection. This can mean laboring for hours on a single tooth in a dental laboratory while working at precise tolerances measured in microns, about the diameter of a human hair. The specialist is concerned about a crown's color, shape, balance, and translucence. Natural teeth are not perfect; they are often translucent at the tips and require specific characterization.
- BridgesIn general, the cost of replacing a single tooth with a dental implant is almost the same as replacing it with a regular fixed bridge. Dental implant treatment may qualify for some insurance coverage, but situations vary. The cost will vary by patient needs, bone quantity, and region. We will make an assessment based on your unique needs.

- PulpotomyDental caries (cavities) and traumatic injury are the main reasons for a tooth to require pulp therapy. Pulp therapy is often referred to as a "nerve treatment", "children's root canal", "pulpectomy" or "pulpotomy". The two common forms of pulp therapy in children's teeth are the pulpotomy and pulpectomy.
- Root Canal TreatmentA pulpectomy is required when the entire pulp is involved (into the root canal(s) of the tooth). During this treatment, the diseased pulp tissue is completely removed from both the crown and root. The canals are cleansed, disinfected and, in the case of primary teeth, filled with a resorbable material. Then, a final restoration is placed. A permanent tooth would be filled with a non-resorbing material.

- Bone GraftingCone Beam Computerized Tomography (CT scans) – Our office is equipped with the Sirona Galileos CBCT machine. This technology allows us to capture 3-D views of bone and soft tissue. Many consider this technology the standard of care for dental implant therapy. With the scan, implants can be planned with accuracy to avoid vital structures such as nerves and blood vessels. It is possible to know if bone grafting is indicated even before the surgery day.
- OrthodonticsDr. Piccioni is a member of the American Association of Orthodontics and the Southern Association of Orthodontics. She was inducted into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon National Dental Honor Society in 2015. She was presented with the Resident’s Award after receiving her orthodontic certificate at Montefiore Medical Center, given to a single resident who exhibits excellence in academics and patient care.
