James River Air Conditioning was established in the Richmond community and was built on an entrepreneurial spirit that provides world- class service with all the warmth, spirit and conviction of a locally owned and operated business. This philosophy has kept us growing since 1967. Our Residential Department specializes in home comfort systems. We service and install air conditioners, heat pumps, mini-splits, furnaces, boilers, humidifiers, dehumidifiers, and air cleaners. We service all makes and models of heat pumps, air conditioners, furnaces, boilers, and indoor air quality equipment.Our Commercial Department specializes in commercial comfort systems and building automation systems. Our team of technicians service and install air conditioners, heat pumps, boilers, chillers, VAV systems, cooling towers, duct systems, ventilation systems, economizers, humidifiers, dehumidifiers, and air cleaners.Both our residential and commercial service departments offer a variety of preventive maintenance plans, from basic maintenance to full coverage including repair parts and labor. We also offer electrical and plumbing services, including wiring, upgrades, water heaters, backflow preventers, and medical gas piping.Our Energy Solutions Group is exploring all practical energy strategies that will make more and more sense for our clients as they seek clean, renewable, safe power that reduces our dependence on foreign oil. We provide home energy audit services and offer practical green solutions including solar, geothermal, and insulation services.

Have always had great skilled service from James River Air Conditioning. Ralph Hodges was the technician for the fall check up this time. He is very courteous, careful to leave our home clean, explained thoroughtly the issues he found, fixed the issue. No high pressure sales, a pleasure to have in our home, I have confidence in his ability to diagnose and repair. Thanks Ralph!

Amazing job by Hein. James River came to our house within 20 minutes of being called as a result of our sewer alarm sounding. He worked for a couple hours, figured out the problem, and repaired the alarm. Incredibly professional and prepared. One of the many reasons we use James River.

Had my semi annual heat pump P. M. today. The tech was professional and paid attention to details. She changed the filter, adjusted the vents for winter, checked diagnostics on the inside and outside units. She was neat and left everything as she found it. I have been as customer of James River Air for nearly 30 years. Todays excellent level of service is consistent with the service I have received over these years.

How can you ask for anything more. Arlo was on time, professional in every way, willing to explain what services he was performing and why, left all areas as clean or cleaner then when he came, made sure to do his job as if it was the only job he had to do, treated everyone with respect and took to time to asked questions, You knew when he left that if it was broke he fixed it, if it was dirty he cleaned it, if it could be tested it was tested, if it was in questioned he made sure to let you know. The best service call you could asked for. If you need this type of service work, then Arlo with JR is the person you want. Thanks for making this service call painless. What was said was not only done, but as you can tell from my statement was done far beyond what I have experienced in the past. Thanks so much!
I had a plumbing emergency at 4am last month and I called James River. Seth was at my house within and hour and did a fantastic job. He was able to quickly identify and resolve the issue. James River reps have been telling me for 3 years that I had defective Quest pipes and after this issue, I decided to get my house re-piped. Seth and Matt, I believe, treated my house with the utmost respect and care. They only made holes in the wall where needed and kept me up to date throughout the process. Seth made the process bearable. He is a true asset to James River.

This is an excellent company! I have a 10 year parts and labor with maintenance every 6 months and I am more than pleased with their work. Chris L. is an excellent technician! Very Professional and is willing to explain all aspect of his work. Thank you James River for fostering great work. Extremely pleased! My next system will always be a James River system.
This review is of Arlo ad the service he provided. I have other issues concerning the original installation that should and could have easily been resolved. They have not been. Arlo is efficient, well trained, knowledgeable and thorough. He is considerate and neat. When he is finished all equipment is running efficiently and the work space is clean. I wish all service techs were like Arlo. I do not wish to review JRAC except to say they do seem to have a very good service staff.

Customer for many years; both installation and maintenance service. I recommend this company very highly. Maintenance Service by one employee, Arlo C., is exceptional. Others among the staff are knowledgeable, honest, and a pleasure to deal with.

I highly recommend the service provided by James River Air Conditioning. We called in for a heating service call and discovered that we had a hot water heater problem. Our serviceman Evan was very efficient and courteous in helping to service our problem. I am thankful that I was able to rely on them to get the work done quickly.

The service could not have been better. I was able to get same day service and the technician checked all possible problems. He went out of his way to make sure the system was up and running before he left.

Paul was very courteous and patient, considering there was confusion as to which unit he was to service. He was very professional and patient, and answered all our questions. I really like the booties he put on over his shoes as my carpeting is light colored. Thanks for the prompt service!

Sarah L. arrived as scheduled, at the beginning of my scheduled "window", and was very courteous / polite during the call. She serviced my furnace quickly and efficiently; was very knowledgable and comfortable doing the service. Plan to use JRAC whenever service is needed.
