I use to like this Resturant a lot. OMG i thought it was the greatest. Until someone treated me for my Birthday and the food was cold the ribs look like they were pick on and starved to death. The spinch dip was cold . I told the waiter and she went and heated the food up.she didnt bring a fresh plate the same poor looking ribs and the spinch dip that i had ate out
We made reservations at Houston's , which could not be found.
The manager treated us like if we were dumb. I will not return to such place, understand people, you have to be nice or eventually you will go out of buss.
This was by far the worst experience I've ever had at a restaurant in New Orleans. The staff was snobbish and as cold as the food. My mother-in-law had to excuse herself from the table in order to vomit. When I finally tracked down a manager (Julie), it was implied that the problem was somehow with my party and the service and food were beyond reproach. I will be sure to tell everyone I see about my terrible experience. Please do not waste money or time on this place. There are too many fantastic places to dine in New Orleans!
The staff organization and service at the St. Charles Avenue location were exceedingly poor. Though I had conventional expectations for seating and serving, the managment uttlerly failed in the most fundamental respects. Menu is what one would expect from a chain restaurant. There are far too many supurb dining alternatives in the City of New Orleans to waste an evening here. As a New Orleanian, I'm embarrased to admit to having dined at Houston's.
Wife took me to Houston's for my birthday and treated me to a great Prime Rib. The food was good, and the service attentive. We enjoyed the music and the occasion.
Family and friends and food. Me... Tuna (oh by the way don't order the tuna) not enough for the hungry man. Yea, I'll go back next time with my wife's family from Montreal.

Look, HOUSTON'S is good, but top ten? Not a chance.
I find the steak menu dated, and frankly, boring.
I will give them an A+++ for their service though, in that category I would agree that they are definately top ten.
The food was great and the service was delightful. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone.
I always look for a Houston's in whatever city I'm in, from Coral Gables, Atlanta, Houston or Austin.
Their quality, service and setting is always first class and the food is always exellent. I can take business guests there without a worry about the food or service, regardless of the city.
Houston's is a chain restaurant. Food is good, but exactly what you expect from any chain steak house. When the staff is in the zone, your glass never runs dry. Ask for the champagne vinegrette on the field greens salad (not on the menu). Be prepared to wait, especially on Sunday.
Houston's is not a romantic restaurant. It's a chain for christ's sake
Very loud atmosphere. Good food for a chain.
Well trained wait staff
Houston's atmosphere is relaxed and casual during the day, and romantic and relaxed during the night.
The ribs are wonderful, steaks even better. The lowly hamburger is majestic. Let's not forget the tortilla soup or the chili soup. Going to Houston's it is doesn't matter what you order, it is all just great. But don't forget to start with artichoke dip - it is to die for.
Overlook the long lines that form for tables most evenings, and the beautiful people mingling at the (very nice) bar. It's all worth it, because the food, from the ribs to the very best chicken tenders I've ever eaten, is excellence, and the mood lighting creates an intimate atmosphere, despite the fact that you're in the middle of a large, bustling and crowded restaurant. Perfect for a date or for meeting with friends.
