Provided by DexKnowsIt's a real shame that we decided to use Highland Mechanical to service our furnace when we were having trouble. The reviews that we read online suggested that they were a trustworthy source; Unfortunately we learned otherwise. For the home owner or business owner looking for good honest service, I urge you to search elsewhere and not make the same mistake that we did. We first called them to fix an issue that was causing the furnace to do an emergency shut off because the flame was going out, we were charged $130 for them to drive out and turn the furnace off and back on again and say that it looks good. When the problem came back we called them again and they recommended a cleaning and inspection, which they did including an inspection of the oil line, they immediately said that they knew what the problem was, the transformer. They swapped that out and said that everything was working fine and charged us $450 or so, (they charge extra because they include the inspection). The next day when we woke up to cold showers again, we scheduled them to come by to find and fix the real problem. Over the next week they came back 2 more times charging for replacement of the electrodes and oil pump and them saying that everything looks good, I'm not really sure why we were still going with them at this point We have paid them over $800 at this point. The next morning we woke up to cold showers, we asked them again to come back to see if they could find the real problem, they suggested the oil line, which they charged extra to inspect earlier. They were unwilling to offer us anything short of their full price and them telling us basically they did their 'best', and we had the choice whether or not we follow their recommendations; we did not have them replace it. I would normally be glad to support a local business, their technicians seemed friendly and capable. unfortunately I don't there is any question where their bottom line lies. I hope you have better luck than we did in finding good service.
