The Public Works Department is a part of the City of Harlingen in Texas. The department includes an administration division that assists private developers, engineers and other city departments to ensure that construction projects comply with city s standards and ordinances. It has an engineering department that is responsible for project management and field inspection, as well as designs construction plans for various projects, including roadways and storm drain systems. The Public Works Department also operates a fleet maintenance division that services and repairs equipment and vehicles. The department includes a sanitation landfill division that is responsible for the operation of the City of Harlingen Recycling Center and solid waste disposal systems.
