Typically I rate and hold companies to a high standard. So I would love to be hard on this company. I am a professor here in Athens and I've lived here off and on for over 15 years. My studies and presentations have taken around the world. It would be very easy to comment that this club is very nice "for Athens". Being a small town we generally have to settle for less than the very best. It is difficult for companies to spend a lot in a city this size. But The Omni seems to have decided to go against that logic. I have to say, in every way, this club is equal to anything I've seen anywhere in the world. They are not perfect but my guess is they are closer than anyone else in town. I'll never go anywhere else again and I've already been a member of the Y and used the Ramsey center.
What's this a gym that is crowded in January? Well I hope so. Since my membership began this past fall, I realize how lucky we are in Athens to have a club this nice. If it weren't busy I'd be worried. I actually emailed the manager this past week regarding the parking situation between 5pm and 7pm. (Little bit tight!:))He responded within 15 minutes and gave me a long email about expansion plans, plans to add another location in Athens on the East Side and re-engineer the parking lot. He was so warm, honest and genuine. He really cared about my concern. Just one member out of what must be thousands. Everybody loves this club. If you don't want the most popular and nicest gym in town look elsewhere!

I have never been to a more crowded health club in my life. If you cant workout early in the morning, don't join this club. Staff is horrible! Crowds, Crowds and more Crowds! The only thing they have going for them is the club is actually very nice.
Where do I start?? I'm a married woman and had not worked out for some time. When a friend invited me to the Omni I had my doubts. The club, the staff, the cleanliness (absolutely spotless), warm and friendly atmosphere, huge variety of classes, separate women's only gym. The club is soooo nice I honestly feel like a VIP or celebrity. Even on my tight budget I was able to afford it. I am very active in community initiatives and charities and even with all the above, The Omni still finds time to donate to more charities in Athens than any other business I know of. That tells me all I need to know about their integrity, professionalism and commitment to their members. By the way I am very happy with my agreement and the signing process.
The Omni uses the same agreement (state of Georgia written) that any health club operating legally in the state of Georgia must use. The Omni also contracts with a billing company so that it can concentrate on taking care of the members not bothering them about paying. I'm curious, when the other reviewer wrote"forced to sign", did they use a gun or some other lethal weapon? Come on, if you can't read things you sign, you shouldn't be signing things. I've had the best experience with my agreement. The Omni also offers the only 30 day full money back guarantee in the region not to mention, indisputably, by any objective measure, the finest staffed and equipped health club in a 100 mile radius. Don't miss out by joining anywhere else. You'll regret it! The last reviewer just wants it to be Omni's fault he got lazy and stopped working out. Omni rocks! And they are now "The Official Health and Fitness Club of UGA Athletics". Could UGA be wrong??
NOT recommended because the staff know little about the contract you're forced to sign. They fail to mention once your 2 yr contract is up that you have to write a different company to request the monthly fees to be dropped. This notice requires 30 days before the fees are dropped. Therefore, even though my membership is up and I no longer live anywhere near this gym, I have to pay for another month. How nice of the staff at Omni to inform me of this. Not once was this mentioned during the signing of the contract. Or from the numerous phone calls from the staff trying to sucker me into other deals. This was not even mentioned when I called to find out when my memebership was up. There are several gyms in Athens that don't hide their company behind fine print. I suggest using them.
This is by far the finest health club I have ever seen. Much less been a member of. My career has moved me in the past from LA, New York, Atlanta and Chicago. When I came to Athens I figured I would have to settle for a "small town" gym. WOW! Was I wrong this club is superior to anything I've ever seen in big cities much less small towns. And the service and staff are like the Ritz Carlton.
