St. Elizabeth's is a nonprofit, acute care, Catholic community hospital that is licensed for 550 beds and 60 bassinets. As a member of Humility of Mary Health Partners, St. E's is able to offer medical/surgical, intensive, intermediate, maternity, neonatal intensive, pediatric and psychiatric inpatient care, as well as inpatient and outpatient surgery and 24-hour emergency services. It also serves as a regional referral center for high-risk maternity and cardiology and is the only Level 1 Trauma Center in the Mahoning Valley. Its teaching program includes residencies for post-graduate training of more than 70 physicians in general surgery, family medicine, internal medicine and general dentistry. It also sponsors a training program for nuclear medicine technologists and serves as a clinical experience site for student nurses and other health professionals. It employs approximately 3,000 staff members and has a medical staff of more than 600 physicians and dentists representing most medical specialties.
