Wow, what a dining experience!...

Wow, what a dining experience! Everything from the 7 course meal, the presentation, the hospitality, the entertainment, and the atmosphere was fantastic! This eating establishment can easily rival the Left Bank or the Roosevelt Tavern. If you can appreciate a cozy dining atmosphere coupled with fine cuisine and good service, then I highly recommend this restaurant.

Upon making reservations prior...

Upon making reservations prior, I was informed I was indeed dining on a "live jazz" evening. We arrived and it was not. I decided to stay despite, overcome by my curiosity of this new cuisine so close to home. The dining area was pleasantly spaced, candle lit...lovely. The service was.......okay. We were left in need a little to often..... all the while, it was not particularly busy. We were one of three tables. Also, I felt the menu was extremely overpriced. $20-$30 a plate downtown is expected for a decent meal. However, I ordered a shrimp cocktail for $9...$11??? Can't remember and there were FOUR shrimp in the glass, of not the best quality. I ordered a scallop dish for my entree...$32 i think??? For a couple large scallops, again not the best quality, spinach and a potato. For dessert, I was anticipating creme brulee, marscapone and figs, bread pudding w praline drizzle and strawberries......NO. Twas a couple of cake options. So, strawberry cheesecake. EXPENSIVE and it was a layered dry piece, previously frozen, that was 3 inches high and 1 inch wide. We were also informed it was a sample given by a food distributor, being that they were a brand new restaurant and they were selling these horrible morsels for one hell of a profit. The bread was the most pleasant, however. I have to find out where they purchase their bread. But our experience between the food, the prices and the service was soooo horrible that it is now our new standard!!!! We dine ALOT and if we are in DC or NYC and we stumble upon a place a little under par, we always say. "Well, at least it's not as bad as Tanzania in York!"
