Founded in 1927, Tibbetts Brook Park covers more than 160 acres of land. The park serves as a venue for organizing several recreational activities and conducting ethnic celebrations, fairs and festivals. Located in Yonkers, N.Y., the park includes picnic pavilions, playgrounds, swimming pools and tennis courts. It also has areas available for fishing, hiking, walking, bicycling, iceskating and cross-country skiing. Tibbetts Brook Park features facilities for people with physical disabilities. The park is owned and operated by the Westchester County Parks Department, which offers a variety of educational, entertainment and sports events for individuals. The department is accredited by the National Recreation and Parks Association.
