I took my wedding dress here to be altered. Not knowing anything about wedding dresses, I believed her when she told me that there was no way to bustle the dress and let her convince me that the only way to not be tripping on it all night was to cut off the train. However, this was absolutely NOT TRUE (I checked with three other shops, too bad it was already too late). After she'd cut the train off and hemmed the dress, I took it to another shop- the hem was 3 inches too short on one side and 4 on the other- it was incredibly uneven. Also, I made the mistake of paying her in full (which, I also found out later was way more than I should have paid) when I left the dress, and she refused to give me any of the money I'd paid her back, even for the work which she hadn't done. Despite the fact that we had a plan- which we did- she led me to make a choice that I was resistant to make otherwise. And part of that plan did NOT include a crooked hem that was more than inches too short.
