      Going the extra mile.

      Do not hesitate to take your vehicle to this shop!!!!! WHY?? Answer: Thanksgiving Eve. midnight, 20 degrees. 2/3 of the way through a 300 mi. trip my trusty Landcruiser blows the front diff.Jump forward to Jan. 20th, 20 min after closing, I finally walk in to pick up my vehicle (my fault, not theirs). The owner ( don't know this) has stayed late to accommodate my schedule on short notice. I'm greeted with a big smile, friendly small talk, and a query about my 175mi drive to get there. The kicker; after having had to talk with me on the phone about getting my vehicle fixed and out the door about 25 times during the preceding months (again my fault because of my wanting to order my own parts etc.) the final price is actually less than the original quote. I've never tipped anyone at a garage before, but I felt compelled to leave them $50.00 for Pizza, whatever.P.S. I'm kind of a cheapskate schoolteacher.
