We stopped at the Loghouse 1776 Restaurant on our way down to the Carolina's on Christmas break. Very interesting dining, love the atmosphere!! It is a very romantic-type setting with candles and unique table coverings and historical furniture throughout. We were happy to go upstairs to the second floor. Love the menu and the food was excellent! We ordered a steak dinner and had stuffed mushrooms for an appetizer. I can't say enough great things about this restaurant. The staff were very friendly and efficient. They took our picture and invited us to walk the grounds after dinner. It is a place I would stop at again if driving down South.

We had a wonderful experience on Feb.21, 2014. The food was very good and served hot! Staff was exceptional, friendly, and efficient. we ordered seafood platter, rib eye steak, pork tenderloin, and a hamburger. All were served perfectly.

Since I did not hear from the owners after writing them about their disrespectful staff, I felt it was necessary to write a review. On May 25 when returning from vacation we made a stop for the night in Wytheville. The Log House was recommended by the receptionist at our hotel. My husband ordered a filet and in all fairness it was very good. However, the trout that I ordered was obviously frozen and had a bitter taste. Being hungry and having waited for our dinner (which we knew we'd have to do) I ended up eating it. Upon paying our bill at the desk when leaving, I mentioned it to the hostess there. Her response was extremely flippant when she commented, "Some things you might like and some you won't. If you want fresh fish go to the coast." In all my years of eating at restaurants I have never had such a disrespecful response. Usually a manager is called to discuss the matter. I was not asking for a refund because I did eat my meal.But I do feel her comment was totally inappropriate. Food was fair, look for somewhere else to eat in Wytheville.

My sister and I made a wrong turn and happened across the restauarant. The filet and fried grits were awsome. Have recommended to everyone travelings through the area.

THIS RESTAURANT IS ONE OF A KIND. IT HOLDS A SPECIAL MEANING TO MY FIANCEE AND I. IT WAS WHERE HE HAD OUR FIRST DATE, AND WHERE WE GOT ENGAGED. THE ATMOSPHERE IS ONE OF A KIND AND IT IS BEAUTIFUL. WE RECOMMEND IT TO EVERYONE WHO WANTS TO DINE SOMEWHERE DIFFERENT AND BEAUTIFUL.
