Beware Overcharges to Your Credit Card …

Have you eaten at the Blockade Runner for brunch on Sunday mornings… Good food & views..a trusted landmark, but beware…

Check your receipt…
When you check out you are given only your credit card receipt which includes the total bill for your meal… They may or may not put the cash register receipt in your bill folder...and if they do check it because a 20% tip gratuity has already been included in the total.… So if you don’t know that or don’t receive the cash register receipt you’ll essentially be tipping up to 40% for a buffet breakfast… It is not posted on the website, at the hostess desk, on the menu, in the service bill folder, or anywhere on the receipt...
This has happened twice and despite speaking with the restaurant manager the first time who made all assurances this would never happen again it did.
Two months later it happened again and spoke with the same manager at the hostess desk who was at a loss how this could still be happening over the past two months.…
Wow...all those families and visitors who may have missed this...tips upwards of 40% on $18.90 Pp for brunch and $50 Pp Mother’s Day. No restitution for them. So at the end of the day not one server, bartender, hostess or manager was ever aware of over tipping, charging credit cards and not clearly posting this policy???

So...if you decide to enjoy the brunch check your receipt and make sure you’re informed whether or not the gratuity is included before you sign off on your room receipt or credit card receipt. For us twice over 2 months is two times too many.
