We had a brand new $9000 Furnace and Water Heater installed in our Worcester home that we paid in full 2 days ago that was recommended by this company. It has broken 3 times now in the first 48 hours. On top of that it's winter with no heat and we have a 4-month-old baby!! Waking up at 6 A.M to a house that is 50 degrees is beyond unacceptable! Let's go down this fun course of events, because we have a very strong feeling it is not the last of these great times.
• Day 1 – 3 hours after install and the crew has left our basement starts filling with water. Their tech discovers after walking into our house and jokingly saying “I hear you have a new pool” finds it was pressurized improperly and has to readjust it so it would stop “burping” water. Great, oh and I had to make the suggestion on turning the furnace off to see if the pressure is off, do I know anything about furnaces ...NO, was this guy about to leave without doing anything…. YES!
• Night 1 – We wake up to a freezing house while our 4-month-old baby is crying to a non-working furnace and zero heat. Oh, by the way it is 17 degrees out. We call the emergency line again and they send a tech that takes an hour and a half to get here and he gets to work. He is not sure what it is but replaces our oil tank filter and what he says is a “bad nozzle”. He says, “these can sit at the factory for a while and they can go bad”, wow glad they are using “NEW PARTS” on our “NEW $9000 furnace”? It starts running and we are now a bit paranoid and worried about what could be next since we hear heat during the winter is important, especially for keeping a 4-month-old baby warm. Oh, and I had to miss half a day of work because of this.
• Day 2 – I go to my job in Rhode Island and at almost 12 P.M on the dot my wife calls me extremely mad that once again the furnace is not running and the screen on this “New Furnace” say “power fault”. They are now sending their “Head tech” to check it out and I have to leave work early and miss almost a full day. So, are the other techs the garbage techs they sent before?? I will continue this story since I am sure this is not the last of this winter fun.

I called for service for my boiler. The tech showed up on time, I was late ; he waited. He cleaned and serviced the boiler and pointed out a pipe leading to the water heater that was leaking. He fixed the pipe for a nominal fee. I could not be happier with CK Smith,

I have been a customer for more than 20 years, of Superior Oil and they have always been great. Just after their merger we had some problems and they sent someone we hadn't met before. After being told we were smelling fumes and feeling sick they "fixed" our system...three times, at significant expense. When we all continued to feel ill we called yet again and this time got someone else. He discovered the bottom had rusted out of our furnace and was causing a severe carbon monoxide leak into our home!! We had to shut the system down immediately, in the worst of winter, and shop for a new heating system. We could have DIED! They did NOT even apologize.!! Their delivery service and emergency response time is great, but after this I really can't, in good conscious, recommend them to anyone.

This is a great company, we have used them for years. The only thing I don't like is the cheap calendars they send out. Better not to send anything and lower their prices a little.

I've been a CK Smith customer for many years, almost ten to be exact, my mother- in- law in Clinton has had them as her oil company since the mid 1970's. She referred them because she's always been happy with their service and I'm glad she told us about them when we purchased our house 10 years ago. They've done plumbing work recently and have come to our house several times over the ten years that we've lived here. Keep up the good work, we think your great!

Horrible customer service! I have been a customer of thiers for over 20 years and was told that they didn't sell my type of water heater and couldn't figure out what was wrong. This was after over 1000.00 in repairs by them that didn't work!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My oil company for 10 years, Superior Oil of Millbury, just merged with these guys. Never had a problem before. Have had 3 major mistakes since the merge and some of the worst customer service I have ever experienced here. Once they fix the mistakes we will be taking our business elsewhere! I would give zero stars if I could!

I used this company for a year as part of the discount Mass Energy plan. The customer service was consistently poor. No one at the company talks to other departments to communicate needed information. They are big, but appear to have outgrown their internal systems. The only reason I did not give one star is their actual automatic oil delivery was fine, it's just the hassle of setting up and heaven forbid if you need to resolve something- it won't happen. Recommend stay away, there are far easier companies to deal with that also have better pricing.
