Adults age 18 and older can receive MAT to treat opioid use disorder, which is an addiction to heroin, prescription painkillers, or other opioid drugs. Each adult who receives MAT at Woonsocket CTC benefits from customized care that includes a prescription for methadone and the appropriate counseling. Counseling in the form of individual and group sessions is an important component of MAT, as it can give adults the support and resources they need to achieve recovery and prevent future relapse.
