During one of the most difficult times in our lives, burying our 26 year old daughter, the team at Lakeside funeral home did an absolutely awesome job. From the moment we walked in the door Kyle guided us through the entire process and it was almost as if he was indeed a part of our family. During such a difficult time there are places out there that will take advantage of a grieving family and 'up-sell you' but that was not the case here. In fact, he made suggestions for caskets that were visually equivalent to more expensive products so that we didn't blow up our budget! He worked closely with my church family at First Baptist Woodstock and it greatly minimized my decisions and coordination. Kyle was able to take a bunch of photos that we digitized and created a beautiful scrolling photo gallery for the visitation room screens. I highly suggest getting family and friends together to select the photos....it turned a chore into a great interaction of stories behind the pictures that celebrated Ashley's life and character in a very difficult time. It began a healing process for me.

One thing on the list of services we did at her funeral that was pretty special was to do a dove release. My 8 yr old granddaughter (and each of the immediate family) was able to hold and release one of the doves. It was a really special closure to the the graveside service that I would recommend for any funeral with little children being left behind.

I could go on and on how the Lakeside team served and supported us in so many details of the situation but each member of my family can attest to how much easier things were made for us to focus on each other rather than the details behind the scenes of the service.

My dear wife Shirley of 26 years passed away on January 3, 2014. She had extended illnesses for over three years. I searched my local area for funeral homes. I went by Lakeside Funeral Home located slightly off of Highway 92, which is near our home. I found that it is practically new. I talked to one of the owners Kyle Standridge. I was happy to learn that Lakeside is family owned and operated. Kyle is a precious and compassionate young man. We had conversations about the capabilities of Lakeside, his background, family and religious beliefs. This conversation was comforting to my daughter and me especially during this time of grief and deciding about a funeral home. We selected Lakeside and had no doubts about our decision. This was truly God sent. An added blessing came when we found that the costs were below other funeral homes in the area. Kyle, his Mother, Wilma and Father, Gary were so personal and helpful during funeral arrangements and the funeral. Paul took care of most of the paperwork and insurance. Funerals can be stressful but they minimized the stress. I highly recommend Lakeside; a trustworthy family owned and operated funeral home. Robert (Bob) Hill Woodstock, Ga.
