Founded in 1986, AIDS Center of Queens County Inc. specializes in supporting individuals and their families infected, affected and at risk for HIV/AIDS and other related conditions. Based in Long Island City, N.Y., the center conducts educational outreach through formal presentations, prevention workshops, in-service training, street outreach and distribution of education materials. It also provides food, clothing and emergency financial assistance and transportation. In addition, AIDS Center of Queens County Inc. offers harm reduction services, such as recreation, massage therapy, acupuncture and syringe exchange.
