Bergen County High School of Jewish Studies is a supplementary regional Hebrew high school, offering educational and extracurricular programs for children from grades eight through twelve. BCHSJS offers a weekly three-hour elective program, supplemented with social programs and community activities. The school is sponsored by 24 congregations, UJA Federation of Bergen County and North Hudson and Jewish Federation of North Jersey. Located in Hackensack, N.J., its curriculum includes mathematics, English, science, foreign languages, history, geography, economics, music and arts and crafts. BCHSJS offers a number of interscholastic sports, such as girl and boy s basketball, cheerleading, baseball, tennis, badminton, swimming, soccer and softball. The school s extracurricular activities include knowledge bowl, junior-senior banquet, senior trips, state fine arts and academic competitions, band and choir concerts and National Honor Society. It regularly organizes an array of social events, such as musical concerts, alumni banquet, donkey basketball game and field day.
