Winchester Wireless's customer service team presented their services well and explained all fees. I felt they knew their business, but was still a bit apprehensive due to reviews and the amount for the equipment purchase. During my visit to their office and requested to speak with the owner, and surprisingly he came out to speak with me. He addressed all concerns, and I feel went above and beyond. I took the leap and purchased the equipment and signed up for service. It is now February 2014, and I must say I am impressed with my internet services. Besides it running a little slower between the hours of 5pm- 10pm (which I was made aware of before signing up), I feel it's the best for my area.

Winchester Wireless practices a bait and switch scam, where a customer has a money back period during the initial 30 days. During that time your connection will be great with little to no issues. Then after the 30 day period is up. Your connection is severely degraded with restrictions. Outages become an every day occurrence. If you complain, David Williamson first, will try to blame your equipment. Next, he blames radio interference. If you happen to know computer networking, and prove it is an issue on his network. He will tell you to take it or leave it. Offer you $100 to buy back your equipment. My initial install was over $600. He regularly deletes any and all Facebook entries made by Winchester Wireless customers which paint him or Winchester Wireless in a negative light. Currently my connection has 50 plus outages a day. Each lasting anywhere from 2-12 seconds. I proved there was an issue on his network, which he promptly demanded I pinpoint the problem on his network. I refuses and was subsequently deleted from the Facebook Winchester Wireless. Thus hiding his broken network from other customers. In my opinion David Williamson is a thief and a conman. He regularly berates and insults customers on the fore mentioned Facebook group. The Better Business Bureau has given him a grade of F. Save your money and find something else.

I have had the service for almost 2 years now. The customer service is terrible. The service is all over the place and they are always doing maintenance and updating the service. You never get a good week with this service just a good day or few hours. The only reason most people I know stay with the service is because it is the only game in town fo now or maybe not.... Management is rude and unprofessional. We need better internet in this area baddddd.

I've been a subscriber for about two years as my alternatives are Hughesnet (no thanks) or dial-up. Their service is great, when its there. I generally get about 100kb/s to 200kb/s download but with the regular 5 second to 5 minute drops of service downloading large files, using Skype, or playing online games becomes impossible. Every time I call in a service issue they are doing maintenance but have all but refused to give me a proper maintenance schedule so I can work around them. I'd like to give them more stars for giving us country folk access to high(er) speed internet but with the constant outages and lackluster support I can only give three stars. Anyone have information on new companies providing better internet to those outside of hardline range?

Terrible service, you get nothing close to what they advertise when it does work. But it's down more than its up. They promise more bandwidth after upgrade to their system are completed. Save your time and money -- seek service from another company -- anyone is better than NO SERVICE from them!!!!!!!

Nothing but poor service from the tower, the owner, and the employees. The last excuse "a competitor is using our frequencies". They must think their customers don't know that the frequencies are regulated by the FCC....Stay away. Consumers use AT&T or verizon. Check out Towerbeam.com for business hope..

i live in shawneeland and just had service installed. have had service for awhile now and had 1 problem come up. turns out my router died and the crew walked me thru how to setup a new one over the phone. thanks winchester wireless

I actually never got their service. One would think a company would do whatever it takes to get new customers. Yet, their automated voicemail sends you to a que, most times you end up at a message center. The chances of getting a call back are slim. I even went as far as setting up an installation after two weeks of phone tag trying to get the proper person to take my info. The date was set, and it rained. Can't do anything about that, but I never received a call that they would not be there. I called their office, left another message, and the installed called back and told me he wouldn't be there. I asked that someone call me the next day to set up a new date, or even if they could come back the next day. (I had to take off work to meet them at my house). Never got a phone call to reschedule. I called once again and was told they do not change schedules due to rain days. That was enough. I canceled my installation. I can't deal with a company like this.
