Located in Winchester, Va., Piedmont Medical Laboratory is a certified and accredited full service clinical Laboratory. The laboratory provides a range of services that addresses infection control practices. It publishes monthly and quarterly reports that track infections and monitor trends in the facility. The laboratory also offers educational sessions that provide infection control and Occupational Safety & Health Administration mandated education. It additionally provides a review of existing infection control policies, with a written report of recommendations for changes. The laboratory also evaluates infection control practices, and disease exposure and other situations that present a risk to resident care. Piedmont Medical Laboratory offers microscopic services that include cleaning, check of all components for proper operation, lubrication of moving parts and overall functional inspection.
