Recent newlyweds with the wedding and honeymoon behind us we were eager to begin the process of updating and transforming our kitchen and dining space into one we could truly be proud of and which reflected our personalities and our deep love for coastal colors; functionality for cooking and entertaining guests was also a priority.

We began the renovation process on our own but quickly realized we were in over our head when it came to making crucial design decisions including coordinating backsplash, countertop, furniture and paint selections. So, we decided it was time to consult with a professional interior designer.

Nancy Mullineaux’s expertise saved us countless hours, headaches and made the renovation process painless and completely stress-free. Nancy and her team manage all aspects from ordering, shipping, inspecting each item and scheduling product installation or delivery. We were absolutely stunned by the quality of materials and custom furnishings that Nancy was able to offer us. Nancy provided us with a wide selection of affordable options for backsplash, quartz counter tops and custom dining chairs that would not only complement each other but bring unity to our adjoining open living room decor.

In short, Nancy and the team at Dezign Inspirations made it possible for a young couple to utilize professional interior design services, obtain the highest quality materials and products while remaining affordable and within budget. My wife and I had the pleasure of working with Nancy and her dedicated design team on the 10-month long construction of our new home.

We were fortunate that a good friend of ours, who had moved to the area several years earlier, had a wonderful recommendation for us for an interior designer – Nancy Mullineaux – who had helped design their custom home, which we incidentally loved.

Over the course of the project Nancy and her team consistently kept us updated and informed on our project timelines, and never ceased to work in a collaborative effort with our builder, architect, etc. It was a true team effort and it made the potentially stressful aspect of building a new home a relaxing, enjoyable and actually FUN experience because we knew what good hands we were in.

An added benefit of working with Nancy is the incredible array of resources she has available in her retail showroom. We were saved the inconvenience and aggravation of having to run all over town trying to coordinate our tile, wood & carpet, cabinets with countertops, paint and everything else needed since she offered it all under one roof. Being a very price conscious consumer having worked in the banking industry for forty years, I was pleasantly surprised by how far our budget went thanks to Nancy’s “cost-plus” pricing structure, which allowed us to purchase everything we needed at contractor’s pricing.

Our experience of tackling building a custom house resulted in a beautiful home that we love, and that evolved into being a true reflection of us and our busy lifestyle of entertaining along with our growing family, dogs and grandchildren. When we sold our home up north, I realized I was locked into beige. For our new home near Wilmington I wanted coastal, not beachy, with pops of color. I knew I needed help! Nancy first held a phone conference with me where we looked at pictures I had saved on Pinterest and Houzz. This streamlined our first meeting in her design center. She had chosen many books of fabrics that aligned with my pictures. She guided me to find an inspiration fabric which we then used to choose all the other fabrics. They coordinate perfectly and give a contemporary coastal vibe to our rooms. I would never have had the confidence to choose the beautiful, colorful fabrics we did. Her furniture and area rug suggestions were so awesome, and definitely outside my wheelhouse. They are perfect, unique, and complete the rooms so that they are comfortable, but very stylish. We get compliments from everyone who visits. Nancy and her assistant are creative, never pushy, and totally respective of my tastes and budget. Her pricing is very fair and reasonable. I would recommend Nancy to anyone who is looking to create their own unique space.

We wanted to write a letter of appreciation for the terrific design assistance which you gave us during the construction of the house and continue to do so as we furnish it. It was such a pleasure working with both of you and your associates. We could never have created such a beautiful home without all of you!

We have especially loved all of the unique and creative design touches which you put into our home. And we love all of the furniture and rugs which you custom ordered for us to complete the decorating in the house, as well as the custom-designed mirror in our master bathroom.

Building a new home, in a new community, is a daunting task. Once built, it needs to be decorated and furnished, which can seem almost equally overwhelming. But Nancy Mullineaux and her staff at Dezign Inspirations were up to the challenge and made this project much easier than anticipated. Having all the resources one needs to achieve this transformation is also incredibly useful. Not having to trudge from a tile store, to a window treatment center, to the paint store, to the furniture showroom all the while becoming increasingly uncertain is avoided by having all those resources available at Dezign Inspirations. Even more rewarding is having Nancy’s expertise to guide you. In a very short time I came to trust her judgment, and she to know my tastes and what I was looking for. She also is honest and does not allow you to make major mistakes, which if you are going solo, can also be a risk! Without fail, our home furnishings and decoration are admired by every visitor. My wife and I absolutely love our home! Many of our guests tell us that it is the most beautiful home they have ever been in. From the very beginning, Nancy along with her wonderful, creative design team’s involvement, our dream home wouldn't have become reality.

We live on the Intracoastal Waterway and we wanted our home to reflect the beauty of the ocean and the tranquility of the colors of the marsh grasses as they change through the seasons. We wanted furnishings that were both beautiful, comfortable, and reflected our lifestyle. Nancy and her associates were able to combine all of these features perfectly and within a very reasonable budget. By patiently listening to us and using their expertise, they were able to exceed our original expectations for our new home.

We enjoyed working with her, picking our marble for the floors, granite for the counter tops, wonderful furnishings, along with coordinating the perfect wall colors. We also appreciated her advice on lighting selections and placement. She even assisted us as a supplier in many areas that were a cut above those that the builder recommended. As a result, our kitchen cabinets and the cabinetry in the office and the upstairs family room are unique; the granite counter tops are perfect; and the patio surrounding the pool is spectacular.

In addition to Nancy’s interior design talents we enjoyed working closely with her and her team during the project. She is organized, thorough, imaginative, and on time. In fact, her installers were usually ahead of schedule waiting for the builder's subcontractors. We particularly appreciated her thorough inspections of the items when they arrived; no scratch or blemish went unnoticed, and any discovered problem was handled to our complete satisfaction.

In short, Nancy is a significant part of our beautiful home. We thank her for her talent, attentions to detail, long hours of work and most of all her friendship.
