- OrthopedicsOriginally from Western PA, Ben graduated from Gannon University in 2010 with his Doctorate of Physical Therapy. He joined the staff of BPTA in Sunset Beach in 2018 after relocating to the area with his wife and son. Over the course of his career, he has worked in a variety of rehab settings including outpatient, acute care, inpatient rehab and skilled nursing and has treated individuals throughout the age ranges from infant to older adults. However, outpatient orthopedics has always been his passion. Ben also has experience managing both outpatient clinics and skilled nursing facilities. Professionally, he strives to provide his patient's with an enjoyable and beneficial experience that allows them to return to their active lifestyles. Ben and his family enjoy an active lifestyle in the Carolina sunshine outside of work. They enjoy participating in the local road running races, golfing, soaking up the sun at the beach and supporting local small businesses. They also enjoy watching their son golf and play baseball in the local dixie league and grow into an athlete and exceptional young man.

- Physical TherapyNick holds his Doctor of Physical Therapy degree and joined our Southport office, located in the St. James Square office park in April of 2017. Our clinic is approximately one-half mile from the main gate entrance to St. James. He received his degree from Duke University and has been licensed since 2005. Nick has been with our practice since 2017 after serving the local community for 10 years as a home health physical therapist. He is originally from northeast Pennsylvania where he did his undergraduate work at East Stroudsburg University and received a BS in biology. From there, he moved south to attend Duke University. While in graduate school, he met his wife Stephanie and they moved to Southport in 2007. They are the proud parents of triplets (Two Identical Twin Boys and a Girl) Oliver, Jakob, and Opal Grey. Nick is very involved in his children's extracurricular activities, specifically swimming, for which he is a coach for the Southport-Oak Island Marlins, and the Brunswick Aquatic Club Gators Professionally, Nick strives to provide patient-focused, hands-on care that incorporates muscle balance and performance, skeletal alignment and pain management to treat dysfunctions of all types

- Aquatic TherapyKaryn Smith is a physical therapist assistant from Kenosha, Wisconsin. Karyn joined our team in September of 2021, and has been a therapist for ten years now. Karyn has worked in nursing facilities, aquatic therapy, and in out patient settings varying ages from 3 to 99 years of age. Karyn received her associates degree in physical therapy assistant at Gateway Technical College in Kenosha, Wisconsin.
