Kingswood Academy, certified by the Delaware Department of Education, provides computer-based learning programs. The academy offers psychological testing and counseling services by certified family therapists. It provides a technologically-enhanced curriculum and vocational courses to its students. Kingswood Academy is a part of Kingswood Community Center, which operates several programs for people suffering from unemployment, poverty and deteriorating housing conditions. Kingswood Community Center, founded in 1946, offers after-school sessions for youth, computer education programs and health care seminars. It also provides meals and recreational activities for senior citizens, as well as day care, job training and placement, utility bills payment and other support services. The center additionally offers emergency services in the areas of rental assistance, brown bag activities and referrals for ancillary services. Located in Wilmington, Del., Kingswood Community Center provides budget and housing counseling services.
