Your Credit Union is a democratic financial cooperative, organized, owned and controlled by its members. The membership of a Credit Union is comprised of a group of people who share a common bond. Individuals invest a small required deposit in a share savings account, which entitles them to all membership benefits including one vote each in the annual election of Directors and Committee members who are qualified member-volunteers. These elected volunteers direct the operations of the Credit Union to benefit all members. CECU membership is open to all employees and retirees of Cessna Aircraft Company, its subsidiaries, and select affiliates including Cessna Finance Company, Yingling Aviation, and Flight Safety International - Cessna. Member share savings deposits are insured up to $250,000 by the National Credit Union Share Insurance Fund (NCUSIF), an arm of the NCUA, totally independent of the bank and savings association insurance funds.
