KPTS, also known as Kansas Public Telecommunications Service, transitioned to a new name, PBS Kansas Channel 8. PBS Kanas is a locally owned television station that serves customer in the south central Kansas. Operational for more than 50 years, it works to entertain, educate, inform and enrich audiences. The station broadcasts programs on various subjects, such as health, education, entertainment, sports and business.The station also broadcasts a variety of national and international news. It organizes discussions and debates on politics and other social issues. The station accepts donations from individuals. PBS Kansas is located in Wichita, Kan.
