Rented here for Labor Day before my daughter went back to school and was excited to see that on their website they had a deal going on for back to school where a 4 hour rental was only 350. The deal going on was one of the only reasons we were able to take my daughter on the lake before she went back to school so we were excited! They explained to me that since it’s a holiday weekend it would still be a 400$ charge, which I didn’t understand because their website said otherwise, but I was ok with that since we had already told our kids. After having a great time on the lake we returned back to the docks 4 minutes late, having three kids with us it took us a little bit of long getting back into the boat. I apologized once getting back into the store to get my deposit back but was still told I would be charged 100$ for being 4 minutes late. Even after being charged more than their website stated and not being told they closed at 8 and a needed to be back before my 4 hour rental was over? Even after getting off of the dock 20 minute after the time my rental was supposed to start. The kid working the counter did not want to help the situation at all and was actually very rude about the whole situation. Left the place paying over 100$ more than intended, advertised and could afford and never wanting to come back.

Called the day before I wanted to rent a boat to surprise my father for Father's day weekend. I spoke with a guy and explained that my Dad had poor use of his legs and we would like to reserve a particular boat that had couch seating in the front and back since my Dad couldn't sit upright (in a chair) for extended periods of time, and we were going to have a full boat of people, so I wanted my Dad to be able to prop his legs up on the couch seating in either the front or back of the boat depending on where he was sitting and the location of the sun during the day. I also explained that I was not ready to commit to renting when I called because I wanted to make sure my Dad's health would permit him to go the next day. The guy I spoke to said "oh don't worry, since it's within 48 hours, I won't charge you if you have to cancel." I said "Are you sure, because your policy says no refund within 48 hours?" He assured me that he wouldn't charge me if we had to cancel.



The next morning, I called around 7:30am to see when the boat would be ready because I wanted to get there early to get my spot on the particular boat that I had inquired about the day before. I was speaking to a different person than the day before, so I re-explained the whole situation with my Dad's health. He told me that that particular boat was unavailable and we would have to make do with the boats that have plastic chairs in the front of the boat but there was couch seating in the back of the boats that are available. I said, okay, that's fine, we are leaving Ann Arbor now, so I will be there about 8:00am (this is when the rental was supposed to start per their website, as advertised). After some personal delays, we arrive at 8:40am expecting to board a boat and the same guy on the phone (Nico, I believe) tells me that none of their boats are available for at least another hour because they were all having mechanical issues. I noticed that one boat was leaving his dock which had couch seating in the front and back of the boat. I asked him why he didn't tell me that boat was available when I called at 7:30am when I was very specific about requesting one of those boats due to my Dad's health, and he tried to cut me off while I was speaking. I asked him why he didn't tell me that none of the other boats would be available until 9:45am when I clearly stated I would be arriving by 8:00am and he again just cut me off while I was speaking and stated that he is busy, trying to get all customers taken care of, and would be concerned for our safety if the boats were not worked on before we took them out. I told Nico that we paid for an all day rental and that's not what he is offering us now so I am canceling the reservation. He stated that I am still responsible to pay him, and I said absolutely not and referenced the facts that he was in breach of contract for not providing services during the times advertised, and that his coworker assured me that I would not be responsible when I spoke to him on the phone the previous day. Nico finally agreed to let me cancel without paying but did so while making a suggestive comment that I cancelled because he heard me arguing with my wife.



The business lacks all professionalism, communication, and courtesy. They forget who the customer is and do not grasp the concept of "earning someone's business." I wouldn't give these guys a nickel of my money. Please heed my warning and go elsewhere; anywhere!

Pontoon rental RIPOFF. Pontoon...

Pontoon rental RIPOFF. Pontoons there are ancient - probably 1970's - falling apart and nasty. No fine print or specific terms on their rental slips. They showed propellor upon leaving shore and said "if any damage it can but up to $100 additional charge". Took boat for 4 hours. Never had the engine at any more than slow speeds - never hit anything. When turning in boat, tech says "we have prop damage here" I looked at propellor and could see no damage whatsoever. I refuted the claim and he said "no, if you feel the edges with your finger you can tell there's wear". I say bull$#!% - They charged my card the extra and I have disputed. DO NOT RENT HERE YOU WILL BE DISAPPOINTED.

Its sad to see that someone can't accept responsablity for the damage they have caused. Just because your at slow speeds does not meen you can run the prop a ground and not have damage. We explain to all of your customers about the dangers in the lake provide a map. We take a picture of the propeller before the rentals leave the dock. We explain if it comes back damg you will be charged the 100 dollar deposit. If you would like a captain for your boat so you dont have any issues we will be more than happy to accomadate your needs.
