My dog Rosie was hit by a car while visiting my parents in Whitman. The police and Animal Control officer were both called. Both of the gentlemen were extremely helpful and companionate. Bob Hammond, the animal control officer, covered my dog with a blanket and was able to direct us where to bring her after regular office hours were closed. He then transported Rosie in his truck to a 24 hour emergency vet in Weymouth. Bob also called ahead and the stretcher and vet team was waiting for him and my dog. He also stayed with us at the hospital while we checked in and and didn't leave until he knew the dog was comfortable and in good hands. He also had some very sincere and comforting words for both my mother and myself. Anyone in this situation knows how difficult it is to see a loved one injured and his calm demeanor and words of encouragement were really amazing. Can't say enough about this wonderful man who touched our lives if only for a brief amount of time. Thankyou so much from the bottom of my heart.
