Dr. James E Boston, Jr is not a trustworthy doctor. If you hear him say 'It's all in your head' or even better, when he says 'It's part of the aging process', you'll know he's a fraud. He was a Psychologist or Psychiatrist before he got his medical degree in South America (look it up and you'll see this too) and uses his former profession's training to trick his residents/patients whom see him for medical issues. He only became a Medical Doctor 15 years ago! To give you a little history on him, my mother used to be his patient in Shallotte (he doesn't practice there any longer since Ocean Isle Beach, Holden Beach, Shallotte, Calabash, etc. ran him out of town after too many complaints from patients). The family noticed many changes with her and thought she had suffered a stroke. I took her to see him, and he actually told me/her that nothing was wrong with my mom and that it was part of her aging process, yet he was only 5 years younger than she was at that time. I asked for her records, mom signed the release, and I read in her medical records that Dr. Boston prescribed her the highest dosage of a Statin medicine and told her to take it 3 times per day. What Doctor in his right mind would, first of all, prescribe the highest dosage to start a patient on, and secondly, what Doctor in his right mind would actually tell a patient to take a Statin 3 times per day? He is not right in his head at all. After I called and pointed that out to him and asked for a referral to a specialist, he was scared and refused to get a referral for several months! During then, she continued to deteriorate and later was diagnosed with ALS (I think from being over-medicated on Statins!). She only lived for 3 months after that diagnosis, however, being over-medicated on a Statin and taking it 3 times a day on the highest dosage allowed, I do feel that lead to her getting ALS! She isn't the only patient he harmed either. He also told another man that it was all in his head and part of his aging process, then his Dentist found his advanced mouth cancer (the reason why he went to the MD was due to mouth pain). Dr. Boston refused to refer him too and since he already had his dentist appt scheduled, his Dentist found his cancer and referred him to an Oncologist; not Dr. Boston. Be careful with his man. He hopefully will be retiring soon now that he's of retirement age. Carolina's Health System out of Charlotte, NC should be ashamed of yourself for hiring this man when he was forced out of Shallotte, NC for causing harm to his patients.
