From the reception area, to the exam rooms, there is not an inch of this place that isn’t wonderful. The genuine concern coming from each person in the facility is hard to find in any other practice. I started taking my 12 year old Chihuahua, Basco, here almost a year ago. He’s the love of my life, but not easy to handle. As the owner of a small feisty dog, it has been difficult to find a veterinarian who can care for him without him trying to bite their fingers off. The last vet we went to used 4 people to hold him down just to put the muzzle on. The moment I walked into the exam room at Whitestone Vet Care, the tech Janine put the muzzle on, no restraint needed. He was calm, relaxed, and didn’t even growl! This is very much out of character for him. The Doctors there are nothing less than brilliant. They are able to explain everything that my dog needs in the simplest and efficient way, and without making you feel like a horrible pet parent for not being aware of certain things for so long. The kindness of the staff and the knowledge of the doctors are what first inspired my love for this facility, but the exceptional care is what will make me continue to use their services. I would urge any pet parent to call them asap to give their pet the best care out there.

My experiences with Whitestone...

My experiences with Whitestone Veterinary Care have been nothing but positive! I began taking my two dogs, Mickey & Harley, to Dr. Wyler and his staff when I felt my previous vet was just not solving the problem. My dog has chronic allergies, and up until now the solution had always been a "quick fix." By now my dogs have seen all three veterinarians on staff - Dr. Wyler, Dr. LaBella, and Dr. Valen. All of them have been extremely thorough in the examination room. I never feel as though I am being rushed out and I feel the time is actually being taken to get to the root of the problem. I would completely entrust my dog's healthcare in the capable hands of Whitestone Veterinary Care & their sister hospital Animal Medical Hospital on Long Island.

If you are looking to be RIPPE...

If you are looking to be RIPPED OFF in time of Grief ...Well this is the Place to go !!!

We recently had to put our dog of 15 yrs to sleep & needless to say it was a VERY HARD Thing to go through. We were asked if we would want his remains and our answer was yes..So the fee for it was 365.50 (which I paid immediately)... They had asked us if we wanted to stay in the room while he was going to be euthanize. At that point we did not know.So we asked if we could go in the room with him for his last moments and they said yea. As we were there saying our goodbyes, they then asked for us to leave because they were ready to begin the euthanasia. We then were asked again if we wanted to stay with him as they did the procedure.Of course we did have a total change of heart & said yes...At this point they told us we had to pay 83.00 more to stay in the room...So very grief stricken and vulnerable we paid ! The total paid was 448.50

In speaking to numerous friend & people since, they ALL said we got RIPPED OFF !! We should have never paid a fee to stay in the room with our beloved pet and the initial amount of 365.50 was way more then enough!

Truly I always felt that their fees were very high. However, they were local and my husband wanted to go there....

I TOTALLY DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS VET!!! UNLESS YOU LIKE GETTING RIPPED OFF !!!!!

I have been bringing my 2 ferr...

I have been bringing my 2 ferrets to Whitestone Vet Care for the past year. Sage and Koda are always treated very well by Dr. Starkey. He is extremely knowledgeable about exotics; especially ferrets. One of my ferrets was suffering from hair loss which Dr. Starkey told me is an indication of adrenal disease in ferrets. He confirmed that she had adrenal disease with a blood test and we decided that the best course of action for Sage was to get a melatonin implant. She got her implant back in February of 2011 and she has since grown a full coat of fur and put on some weight. Although she is not "cured" of her disease, it is being managed nicely by this implant. I will continue to come to Dr. Starkey with any questions that I have regarding my ferrets in the future. A+ vet and also a great support staff!!

I recently adopted a rabbit. I...

I recently adopted a rabbit. I live in Queens NY and was looking for a vet close by – but was willing to travel if it meant finding her great care. I was in luck - I found Dr. Starkey at Whitestone Vet Care. Although he is a board certified avian specialist, his knowledge of rabbits and their behavior is unmatched! When I first brought her in for an exam, I had a ton of questions being that I never owned a rabbit before. Dr. Starkey answered every one of them, and then some. He gave me advice on feeding her, her cage at home, behavior issues, - even medical conditions rabbits are prone to. He informed me how important it was to have her spayed to significantly reduce the chance of cancer. I had no idea that was even an issue with rabbits! His gentle care of her was impeccable! The girls at the desk, Laura, Nichelle and Sharon are all so helpful when I call with silly questions. They always take the time to listen and give me the best advice for the situation. The techs are wonderful as well – Rachel and Dayhanna always handle my bunny with such care and put both her and me at ease. I can’t tell you how happy I am that I found this place!!

Excellent Vet!

We have a small Yorki-Poo named Yodle that we have been bringing to Dr. Wyler at Whitestone Vet Care for several months now. Dr. Wyler is extremely professional and also obviously an animal-lover that treats Yodle as if she were his own dog. He always takes the time to discuss in detail the vaccinations and medication Yodle needs, and also gives very good advice on training. We immediately felt comfortable in the office – it is clean and well maintained, and the receptionists are extremely polite and always helpful. After a bad experience at a different Vet, it was truly a blessing to find such a great Vet! I would recommend Whitestone Vet Care to anyone with a pet of their own.

Benson & Bentley's Veterinarian

I have been seeing Dr. Wyler at WVC since September 2008. He continues to be knowledgeable and friendly each time I bring in my two dachshunds. He consistently has a terrific bed-side manner and his overall demeanor with the animals is superb. I would suggest WVC for your veterinary medicine needs.

The Best Vet in Town!

Whitestone Veterinary Care is absolutely the cats' meow!! I have numerous cats and have been absolutely satisfied with the care they received every time. I had been to many other vets in the area and the quality of care at WVC is heads and shoulders above them all. They are genuinely compassionate, highly competent, and honest. I totally trust them with the care of my pets. The staff are fantastic, caring, and very accomodating. Dr. Wyler is simply the best vet there is. If you have a pet, this is the place to take them! Make an appointment today!

My Charlemagne and Whitestone VetCare

By Jill P. Whitestone Veterinary Care Pc

I wish that I did not have to write this, but unfortunately I have to.

On August 18. 2009 my baby girl dog Charlemagne was poisoned and almost died.

The staff of Whitestone Vet Care consisting of Nichelle, Elizabeth, and Sophia were extremely- for lack of a better words, understanding, sympathetic, knowledgeable, patient... and so on.

Dr. Jackie Chaffer also worked in conjunction with the emergency hospital to coordinate care for Charlemagne while she was inpatient until her discharge.

I could not have done it without their kind and loving help.

If looking for a vet either new or switching to a new one the practice of Whitestone Animal Hospital is IT!!! Look no further wherever you are you have found the place for your companion and friend to have the perfect care in any and all situations.

Just a note-yesterday I was at the office and someone brought in a dog they had found. Again, Nichelle, Sophia and Irma jumped into action-scanned the dog to check for a microchip, took a picture of the dog and began to set up a poster to help find the owner.

Time and time again the staff at Whitestone Vet proves their love for animals in all situations. I thank GOD that the team is my choice for terrific animal care. Please make it yours !!!
