My 4 year old attended the pre-ballet class. The class seemed to fun and she enjoyed them. The complaint I have is with the year end recital. The recital is way to much of a big deal for younger children. The recital is far away and inconvenient, plus it's expensive ($14 a ticket to see a 4 year old dance for 5 minutes?). I think we are going to find something more practical with less pressure until she is older.

The classes and teachers are great. But, when it comes time for the recital you have to travel all the way to Fox Chapel Shady Side Academy for rehearsal and recital. It's disappointing after being at Marshall Middle School where it was conveniently located. Plus, prices for tickets went up! Also, there is not enough space for a large crowd as happened on Friday night's recital when they had to turn people away. There are too many dances and it seems to be catered more to the company than to families who just want to see their child involved in something special. They need to look at other facilities for the recital. I know of a lot of people that are not looking to come back next year because of this issue...including my daughter!

I could never have asked for a better dance education. I love the staff to death and I'm so proud to be a part of MDC history.
