General Info
Co-Proprietors of The Tailored Home, Westport, and In-Home Design experts Jhon Ortiz & Scott Falciglia share a love of the “Sanctuary of Home”…. Having grown up thousands of miles apart in very different cultures, the pair have arrived at a unifying vision for Home comforts polished by inimitable style. Their mutual respect for historically hand-crafted furniture has informed their own line of “Verse” Custom Furniture: Upholstered (Sofas, Club Chairs, etc.) and Case (Dining Tables, Cocktail Tables, etc), made here in Fairfield County, CT under their discerning eye. Hand-crafted to endure, the Verse Line silhouettes are both contemporary and classic. The Verse Tables feature reclaimed wood. Too, their passion for re-imagining & restoring fine Vintage pieces brings each interior design project to a level of unique authenticity. Use of Pigmented Lacquers and unusual Paint finishes give their pieces signature style. Several decades specializing in Window Treatment Projects have made Jhon Ortiz the “Go-to” for other interior designers and clients as well. His imaginative and well-planned detailing garnish every Window project from Roman Shades to Panels. His On-premise workroom ensures his ability to over-see every project. The Tailored Home has been featured in East Coast Home & Design and CT Cottages & Gardens. The pair’s vision of Home as Sanctuary has influenced this Vignette for Rooms with a View. It is an inspiration of unapologetic & JOYful escape from…technology, noise, over-stimulation. It represents a COMFORTable space to “check-your-cell-phones-at-the-door,” to disconnect from the day and to momentarily revive the art of conversation, meditation, or to capture a simple, fleeting moment of self-indulgence. A Place to Hide is a room to restore yourself to…yourself, and what could bring more COMFORT and JOY this and every season?
