Demarey Gardens was a delightful surprise discovered in summer, 2010 when bringing guests for Sheldon's Ice Cream. Demarey Gardens is a gem in a perfect setting: an old grist mill on the Manhan River where rushing waters soothe the senses. Crystals, stones, jewelry, pottery, and other gift items complement the post-and-beam interior. Be sure to see the unusual decorative gourds, carved and stained by a local artisan. Knowledgeable, attentive staff will help you research your interests, point out similar pieces, or guide you to those that would make good companions for your crystals. In season, treat yourself at Sheldon's (beware: portions are *huge*) before wandering to the deck overhanging the river. The view is stunning in any season. A Labradorite pendant, silver wire-wrapped with amethyst and silver beads was my most recent purchase. It won't be my last! Visit once and you'll be drawn back again and again!
