LightLab Imaging is focused on developing optical coherence tomography. OCT is a new high-resolution, high-speed imaging modality that uses advanced photonics for imaging and tissue characterization. The company s mission is to help physicians make earlier and more accurate diagnosis of a wide range of diseases, including heart disease and cancer. LightLab Imaging s employees have extensive experience in the development and application of OCT from reputable schools and companies, such as MIT, Harvard, Lincoln Laboratory and Carl Zeiss. Executives of the company have also made contributions with their knowledge of health care and medical device development, especially in the areas of device development, manufacturing and marketing with companies, such as Hewlett-Packard, Agilent Technologies, Boston Scientific and C.R. Bard. In July 2002, LightLab Imaging became a subsidiary of Goodman, a Japanese corporation known for its success in interventional cardiology. LightLab Imaging is located in Westford, Mass.
