I called to order service for Friday at 7:15 am to go from East Meadow to Willis Avenue in Westbury. I was quoted a price of $14.00. The car (jalopy) arrived right on time and two of us were dropped off with no problem. We gave the driver $20. We asked about returning on Sunday evening and he told us to just call and someone would pick us up.
On Sunday evening, we called for a pickup. The taxi arrived twenty minutes later and took us home.
The driver then advised us the fare was $25.00. That was almost double the original fare. Talk about "bait and switch". A word to the wise, check the price before you book. NEVER AGAIN.
