My wife and I are unable to recommend Kids Escaping drugs - Renaissance Addiction Services (West Seneca, NY). They appeared to want to treat the "Mister Rogers" type client and demonstrated little tolerance for individuals struggling with behaviors of addiction. They are located next door to a large chain grocery store where clients run off to and steal over the counter medications to abuse. They required we give them cash in small bills to pay for outings but did not reimburse us for this when he was discharged 9 days later. They sent our son to a local Emergency Department but did not provide the Ambulance service with his billing information - as a result we just received a telephone call from a collections agency for a $25 ambulance bill we knew nothing about. Pretty buildings but poor program - focused on obtaining donations - they appear to be overly focused on earning money. As a licensed Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner caring for individuals with mental health and substance abuse concerns I am Unable to support or recommend this program.
