The West Reading Elementary Center is an educational institution that is governed by the Wyomissing Area School District. The center serves more than 280 students in grades five and six. Located in West Reading, Pa., it offers English as a Second Language and gifted and talented education programs. The center s academic curriculum includes language arts, math, science and social studies. It also offers instruction in Spanish, art, music and physical education. The center provides speech and language therapies for students with special needs. The West Reading Elementary Center operates a student council, draw squad, band and orchestra. The center supports a range of sports activities that includes wrestling, swimming, tennis, soccer, and track and field. It also conducts field trips and organizes talent shows and family socials. In addition, the West Reading Elementary Center offers meals, transportation, guidance counseling and medical care.
