Established in 1870, Norristown Area High School offers classes from grades nine through 12 and has an enrolment of more than 1,800 students. It offers several small learning communities, such as business and finance, health sciences, law, technology and visual arts. The school also operates special programs, including Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps that offers classes in character and leadership development, wellness, fitness, first aid, earth science and American history. Additionally, the school operates an online program that offers advanced-placement, honors and regular courses. The school also has a full complement of boy s and girl s sports, musical groups, co-curricular and extracurricular activities. Located in Norristown, Pa., the school has a TV production studio that broadcasts news and a variety of programs.
