West Newton Elementary School, established in 1870, offers classes from grades one through four. Located in West Newton, Ind., its curriculum includes English, language arts, mathematics, social studies, science, art, music, computer studies and physical education. It has a parent-teacher association that involves parents in various educational activities of the school. It offers various sports activities, including volleyball, baseball, football, track and field, wrestling, tennis, cross-country, basketball, soccer and softball. The school organizes a variety of events, such as book fairs, field trips and fund-raisers. It also provides a library and cafeteria for its students.
