I have lived in Minnesota, Texas, Illinois and now Iowa in the last 5 years and the utter bias shown by this appraiser after purchasing 6 homes in 5 years is unbelievable. This is potentially the single worst appraiser I have ever dealt with, second only to one from Waco, TX, called to do an appraisal in Austin, TX, showing a complete lack of understanding the Austin market. This appraiser didn't even perform the actual appraisal - they reviewed information in the county tax system, stated the property wouldn't be put to best use and told the lender to turn down the note. They simply stated the appraisal wouldn't meet value and didn't perform the work. Lazy, incompetent and biased. And people wonder why the economy is stagnated. City tax assessor valuations would have been more competent than this appraiser.
