      General Info
      Jeff is an Iowa Chapter 7 bankruptcy attorney, $900 Fixed Attorney Fee, one office appointment, one hearing in Des Moines 30 days later, discharge 9 weeks after hearing. Jeff does not use packets. Instead we prepare your entire petition together during the one office appointment. Jeff files your case electronically from his office normally the Thursday after your office meeting and your hearing is about 30 days after filing. By law, the Judge can not issue your discharge until about 9 weeks after your hearing, but because we carefully prepare your petition normally nothing much happens between hearing and discharge. Jeff handles clients from all Iowa counties with cases filed in Federal Court here in Des Moines. If you are below median income, you should have no problem getting a full Chapter 7 discharge with no repayment. There is a $299 filing fee. We do ask for the $900 attorney fee up front since we become a dischargeable creditor, just like the others. There is a pre-filing credit counseling requirement which you can fulfill online.
