Pedro had his first sick vet appointment today. I was not happy with the way things went during our appointment. First of all his vet came in with a look of disgust when she looked at his ears. He is our family's first pet and we are still learning about him and about puppies in general. She also made a comment about his behavior and asked if I'd thought about training him (he is very hyperactive around new people and other pets). She also mentioned getting him neutered, and I know that could improve his behavior as well, but that is not why I came in today. All while she is asking me this, he attempted to interact with Dr.Hallman and she did not want to have any part of it and told him to stop. I don't know about other people, but if I take my puppy or anyone to the doctor, it is important to have a good connection and good relationship with the Dr you are trusting your pet with. It is unfortunate to say that I do not feel comfortable taking Pedro to Dr. Hallman, although her staff is amazing, at the end of the day she is his vet and we will be seeking a new Veterinarian for him. Not all pets are the same, mine just like a child is special in his own way, and Pedro is part of my family and he deserves the best.

A staff member loudly criticized us because our new puppy, who had never been to a vet, had snapped at her. I was shocked that these supposedly experienced vets have never dealt with a frightened puppy before. The small house environment (the building actually used to be a house) is nice, but I do not care for the blank, "spaced out" demeanor of the assistants. I feel like my dogs are numbers to them.

My pet had been coming here for many years. He has had many ear infections and I went in to refill the meds (he was getting another infection at this time). I was told I must schedule a visit. I said I would like to and then was told that they are closing in 30 minutes. I said I could be back with him in 10 minutes, could you please see him, otherwise he will be in PAIN all weekend? I was given a firm "NO" and told to make an appointment the following Monday.. Later I called back and asked to speak to the Vet. The Vet called back and said that she is not sorry for what happened. Having lived in other places and having other Veterinarians, I am so surprised by this behavior. We will never be back.

Highly recommend Kelly and her staff. Kelly has always tried to get to the bottom of whatever ailements my cocker spaniel has even if she will soon be 14 Kelly treats her like she is a young dog unlike most you may go to that pretty much give up on the older animals. Let alone my dog loves them. She walks in with her tail wagging and is happy to see them all. They treat her as if she is theirs and that is worth ALOT!!

The entire staff at West Columbia Animal Clinic are the best, I can't see taking my little baby anywhere else. She loves all the girls and of course she loves Dr. Kelly. The office was so good to my little Puddles when she had stroke. They are the best.

great staff, very knowledgeable & friendly. Plus they don't charge you an arm and a leg just because they know you will do anything for your pet.
