This is one of the few places in Wenatchee having any sort of style and character. There are two types of places here: old boy; and corporate America. Cafe Mela is neither. I enjoy the atmosphere and the coffee, especially the mocha, is the best in town. Starbucks is a good company but it caters to those who want cookie cutter sameness, predictability, and are easily influenced and lead by the pied pipers of advertising. Some attributes I like are the changing artwork, a relaxed setting with tables and couches with a public house type of surrounding. Their staff is always friendly. If you want to actually enjoy a cup of coffee and relax, read books, and perhaps listen to the entertainment this is the place in Wenatchee to go.

The coffee was good, the food tasty but pricey, why I won't go back is the atmosphere. I had stopped in hoping to get some work done on my laptop, yet even with my headphones as loud as they could go it not drown out the family and friends of the staff (possibly owner). They treated the restaurant like their family room with no regards for what or where their young children were playing. They shouted back and forth to each other... I was so glad to leave. Sadly, I wanted another cup of coffee so I went somewhere else.
