- Visit our old barn in Weirsdale. The original building was part of the planned housing for the cross-state barge canal which was going to be built in the 1940's, The building was never used for housing and was later moved to Weirsdale and used for an auto garage. In the 1960's Mealy W. Reed Sr. bought the property and added about 8,000 square feet for citrus packing equipment and storage. Today we still pick in the old barn and run a retail store in the front.

General Info
In 1882 William Wallace Reed our Great Great Grandfather began growing citrus on the west side of Lake Weir. We haven't moved very far, today we live within 5 miles of those original groves. Today we grow a wide variety of citrus including Navel oranges, Satsuma mandarins, Fallglo tantangelos, Sunburst Tangerines, Seville Sour Oranges, Orlando Tangelos, and Valencia oranges.

Reviews
I never thought I would have to say this, but the quality of the fresh plant city strawberries that I purchased at the Publix store was so much better than the quality of the ones at the weirsdale stand. Many soft berries in the bottom of the container, which was solid cardboard so you could not see them. It was then dumped into a plastic grocery bag. Probably not the best way to transport fresh strawberries. Very disappointing. Would not recommend them to anyone.
