General Info
Dr. Jihad Harmouche is a skilled obstetrician and gynecologist who has earned several prestigious awards and scholarships throughout his medical career. He was the recipient of the Golden Apple Teaching Award, given to the top residents every three months for teaching medical students during their OB/GYN rotations. Dr. Harmouche was also honored with the Herzog Scholarship, which is awarded based on need and academic performance, and the Thompson Scholarship for International Health, recognizing his dedication to global health. In addition, he received the Albert Schweitzer Osler Society Global Health Scholarship for his commitment to a global health experience, as well as the Jack Smith Scholarship for the best behavioral research proposal of the year. He was also recognized at the Regional Undergraduate Research Symposium with the Cell Signaling Award. Dr. Harmouche is a member of the University of Houston Chapter of Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society, an exclusive group for students in the top 7% of their class, and received the Houston-Louis Stokes Alliance for Minority Participation Scholarship for his efforts in improving academic success for minority students through teaching workshops. Dr. Harmouche completed his Obstetrics and Gynecology Residency at Ascension St. John Hospital and Medical Center, where he received comprehensive training in women's health care.
