The Department of Webster Public Works, based in Webster, N.Y., comprises various services, such as building maintenance, engineering, building, and planning & zoning. The Town Building Department Building issues permits for various types of structures, including new construction, additions, alterations or demolition, swimming pools, signs, storage sheds, fences and decks. The mapping and zoning services allow regulation of land development in the Town. The three zoning categories are residential, commercial and industrial. The engineering department of Webster Public Works is responsible for the maintenance of all mapping of town-owned utilities, Graphical Information System (GIS) services, engineering review of all subdivision applications and inspections for subdivision construction.
