Applegate Insulation is the largest family-owned manufacturer of recycled cellulose insulation in the United States with 7 manufacturing facilities located across America. Applegate insulation is made of up to 85 percent recycled newsprint, which is combined with BurnBarrier, a non-toxic, fire-resistant additive, in a unique, two-stage liquid-dry manufacturing process. The insulation also uses one-fifth the energy of common insulations like fiberglass and qualifies for LEED certification points. Founded in 1952, Applegate Insulation maintains its headquarters in Webberville, Mich.
